My two children, my husband Tim, a very fat ginger cat and I moved to Lydden in August 2010. My two year old son started at the nursery straightaway. It didn’t take us long to see what a super nursery Tots 2 Teens is, and how truly committed the staff are to the children in its provision.

When the call came in February 2011 for new committee members, Tim and I foolhardily offered to fill any gaps! Tim got off lightly (well, not that lightly as he gets all the ‘fixing’ jobs!) with ‘committee member’. I got ‘chair’! Despite my initial trepidation I am thoroughly enjoying my new role. It is immensely rewarding – everything we do as a committee we do with the aim of creating the most positive environment possible for the children, and supporting both staff and parents as best we can.

As a committee, we are really striving to be as approachable as we possibly can, so that parents and staff are comfortable offering opinions, suggestions and ideas, getting involved with projects like our ‘workforce days’, and feeling included in the decision making processes at Tots 2 Teens.
